Bertha's Beach is located in the Falkland islands and was visited by Shelly during her artist residency with the Royal Navy. Shelly Joined the HMS Protector on the Falkland islands in Jan' 2017 before sailing down to the western peninsular of Antarctica on a 6 week voyage.
Penguins delight people the world over with their charming antics and the Gentoo colony at Bethas beach were a lively and endearing subject for Shelly to study. A rainbow appeared over the beach during one of her visits there making a breath taking backdrop for the little monochrome birds.
