Ladies Who Lunch
In this calming scene a large breeding herd of African elephants browse through rich grasses on the edge of a river. Their movements disturbing various water birds as cattle egret, malachite kingfisher and African jacana emerge from the grasses and fly through the scene. The jewel hues of the kingfishers are repeated through the piece giving the scene a rich opulence.
